Nayanthara Beyond the Fairy Tale, a film based on the documentary, has been released on Netflix on 18 November 2024. This film is based on the struggle of the life of famous South actress Nayanthara.

Nayanthara Beyond the Fairy Tale documentary has been released on actress Nayanthara’s 40th birthday. This film is based on Nayanthara’s film career, relationship with husband Vigresh Shivan and her journey as a mother.
The story begins with Vigresh and Nayanthara discussing the wedding venue. During the discussion, Gautam Vasude Menon says that you are not seen on such occasions, in response Nayanthara says I don’t know but why not now.
Nayanthara dislikes director Atlee’s Lady Superstar and while expressing her views says that it has been 18 years since I have come into the film industry but I never understand the tag attached to my name. Nayanthara, while telling her childhood memories, says that I have learned one thing from my parents that one should always remain disciplined in life. Nayanthara’s father was an officer in the Air Force and her mother is a housewife.
Nayanthara had never dreamt of coming into films. Malayalam director Sathyan Anthikad had offered her a role in a film after seeing her photo in an advertisement. Nayanthara had refused but then said yes on the insistence of her friends. After doing a few Malayalam films, Nayanthara turned to Tamil cinema with producer Pushpa Kandasy’s Ayyaa film.
Along with this, she got an important role in Rajinikanth’s Chandramukhi. Actress Nayanthara had struggled a lot during her film career. Her bad time was during the film Ghajini when people used to criticize her for her weight. After playing the role of Sita in the Telugu film Sri Rama Rajyam, she distanced herself from films because that man asked her to quit films.
In the documentary, Nayanthara has told about the relationships of her life. Her first relationship (Simbarasan) was broken because the trust between them was broken. While working with Nagarjuna in the film Boss (2006), she would immediately switch off his phone as soon as it rang. The actress told about her second relationship (Prabhu Deva) that she took a 2-year break from films because of that man. Nayanthara did not name the man.
Nagarjuna has told in the film that after two years, when I thought of calling Nayanthara for the film, she immediately said yes. Due to this, people did not like her bikini look during Vishnuvardhan’s Billa film (2007).

There is a 3 second video in the film for which producer Dhanush has sent a legal notice demanding 10 rupees. One of the scenes in the film is from the song Namudi Rowdy Dhanu which has been used without his permission.
Conclusion
The first half of the film shows her struggles and failures in life from her birthplace Tiruvalla. The second half shows her married life with her husband Vigresh.
